AFS World Class Forestry Standard

In Western Australia, the Karri forests are sustainably managed by the State Government agency, the Forest Products Commission, to ensure all Eucalypt hardwood forests are conserved for many years to come. The Forest Products Commission has implemented an environmental management system that has been certified as complying with the requirements of the international standard AS/NZS ISO 14001 and in January 2009, achieved certification to the AFS. The Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) is the leading management standard of the Australian Forestry Certification Scheme (AFCS) which certifies extensive areas of native forests and plantations across Australia.

The AFS is a world class forestry standard which is endorsed by the world's biggest assessor of sustainable forest management, the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). For more information about the AFS, please visit www.forestrystandard.org.au.

To further assure our customers that all timber supplied from grower to manufacturer is sustainably managed, Auswest Timbers achieved Chain of Custody certification in April 2009.
